how to cure a cold
over the last couple of days, i've had a cold. i don't do well with colds because i am not very chill. i have so much to do that i simply don't have time for a cold 😭.
instead of relaxing, i basically spent my full day trying to combat the cold:
- no talking allowed except during my 6-8pm class
- 3 immunity shots: the ginger, turmeric, lemon ones you find at the bodega
- lots of tissues
- camping next to the humidifier
- tylenol
- robitussin every 4 hours: i really don't think this does anything
- hot water: this was hard for me because i really only like cold beverages 😭
- hot water with honey: i read a reddit post that swore by this, so i was like why not?
- hot water with salt to gurgle
- hot tea: i'm more of a coffee person
- soup: i also really don't like soup
- a 30 minute nap
- steam room in the gym locker room: tbh this was the most effective by far
thankfully, my efforts paid off and i would say i'm 90% healed as of 12:48pm.
some other context: usually, i wouldn't be so frantic about getting rid of a cold, but the ~ composer ~ of the piece we're performing is coming to rehearsal tonight and i cannot miss it.
if you've watched the devil wears prada, basically i feel the same way emily does when she refuses to be sick because she's going to the gala.
